Many people have a tendency to make research of their past lives and the main purpose of recalling is just to help resolve the issues that are generating hurdles in the present. Now one must be curious as to how to access the regression. The simplest way is to deepen and intensity the emotion that is the root of the problem.

One can perceive the date, country they were residing, name, family, and much of the information by doing research. This method does not prove that there is something like reincarnation but brings us very near to that situation.

This is also used for therapeutic benefit. Any person having any phobias can be removed by this method. This method has some risks also. Some cases have occurred in which the old memories have not gone and has remained in the mind and in that case the person is left with an altered state of personality for several days.

Many of my clients often ask me, “Just what is hypnosis?”

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. It is also a process where the client and the therapist cooperate for the benefit of the client.

What does that mean?

Although the word “hypnosis” comes from the Greek word “sleep” the hypnotized individual is not asleep. Nor are they unconscious. Amazingly, while an individual is hypnotized they are more alert than ever.

I like to say it is a hightened state of awareness. Interestingly, after a session of hypnotherapy most clients express feelings of profound relaxation and peace.

Hypnosis is a feeling that one must experience to fully appreciate.

Hypnotherapy is completely safe. It is very helpful when applied to medical issues: pain control, stress reduction, sexual problems, phobias, insomnia, smoking cessation, weight loss and lack of motivation.

If you, or you doctor, ever thought that your problem is “all in your head”, then hypnotherapy may be your ideal solution. If your mind created your problem, then your mind can also be used to make you well.

The only people who cannot be hypnotized to a depth that will be helpful are the feeble-minded, the insane and the senile. Also very young children who have not yet developed sufficient mind power cannot be hypnotized.

Since hypnosis is a natural state of mind, you do not have to work hard for hypnotherapy to be effective. In fact just the opposite is true.

Whether it is eliminating the smoking habit, losing weight and getting into great shape, hitting a golf ball with more concentration than you ever imagined…or overcoming the fear of rejection in a sales situation…or actually enjoying your next visit to the dentist…hypnotherapy can help you achieve results faster that you ever dreamed possible.

Hypnotherapy is a pleasant and enjoyable way to unlock the potential of your sub-conscious mind. For more in-depth information see Weight Loss Hypnosis.

Well this last week was a busy week for me with loads of clients wanting help with their New Years resolutions. And right in the middle of the week I had an interview on our local BBC radio station. The interview was great and I arrived back in the office to a buzzing phone and answer phone!

During the interview I made a comment that has been bugging me all over the weekend to give it some extra thought. During the interview with presenter Danny Cox, I said that ‘I used Hypnosis because it is that lazy man’s approach’. Hmm… Now should I have said this?

I had a long email come the evening after the interview from a colleague who was, well let’s just say - not to happy about the remark that I had made earlier that day. He said that he found, that teaching and learning Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis were difficult and that what I said could have given a false impression to Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis - making it look easier than it is.

You see the thing is, is that I have always taught my clients Self-Hypnosis in about 30 minutes or less and have heard great stories of success from people that have read my book and found it a simple approach! For me and my clients we find it easy. Maybe because I see it as a natural occurrence and teach it as such rather than add all of the ‘Mystery and Mumbo Jumbo’ – this could make it seem simpler.

Anyway when I made the comment it wasn’t in regard to the hypnosis its self. I was actually describing the easiness and speed in which you can get great results when you use it properly!

I mean who would want all of the discomfort of trying hard at other approaches when you can just take the ‘Lazy Man’s Approach’? I know I wouldn’t! I remember in my late teens trying to stop smoking with patches and failing miserably – and then I remember giving up with Hypnosis and just how easy it was.

Fact: Research shows that Hypnosis is the second most effective way stop smoking - only seconded by Heart Disease! So if it can assist someone to kick the habit - imagine what it could facilitate you to do.

Some people are scared of Hypnosis, but I tell you what – I would be much more scared of Heart Disease and after seeing the facts – most sceptics would be fans!

* What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis, in general, is a psychological situation wherein an individual shows signs of changes in the behavior, thought, or attitude. On the other hand, some people may undergo an increase in suggestibility and subjective feelings of an “altered state of consciousness.”

The hypnosis applications varied widely. Some of the people include the use of hypnosis for entertainment and health functions.

Hypnosis is not a type of therapy. Most of the psychologist use hypnosis to conduct psychological related techniques. During the presentation of technique, the subject will learn how to obey the commands and engage in behavior they might not normally choose to perform.
* What is post-hypnotic suggestion?

Post-hypnotic suggestions are the feeling carried out after the termination of hypnosis. This feeling is the response of the subject to the specific suggestions of post-hypnotic phenomena. A suggestion is given apparently during hypnosis stage. During this stage stimulus is served while the act becomes a response.

A post-hypnotic suggestion and a conditioned reflex serve a similar purpose except that the former is not established by repetitive trial.

Normally the post-hypnotic suggestion is a compound task for the subject because it can turn into a more hypnotic injunction. It is often called out because of several single sessions of hypnosis.
* What is auto-suggestion?

Auto-suggestion more popularly called autogenous training is a process wherein the subject trains the part of subconscious mind. Normally it is being performed because the subject wants to create some particulars inside the mind. Some people want to practice autosuggestion training because they want to schematize their mental level for a given purpose.

Acceptance of auto-suggestions may be quickened through mental visualization of what the individual would like to believe. Autosuggestions can be seen as an aspect of “self-exhorting”, meditations or other form of similar activities.

Applications of deliberate autosuggestions intended to change the way a subject believes in terms of physical or psychological aspects.
* Is “highway hypnosis” really a kind of hypnosis?

Highway hypnosis is a mental state in which the person can drive an automobile in a great distance, responding to external events in the expected manner. In this state, the consciousness is clearly divided between the driving task and the person’s thoughts on several concerns.

Based upon the theory of Ernest Hilgard, the highway hypnosis was developed in a stream of consciousness. According to the theory, highway hypnosis can be a usual experience. The common sense suggests that when driving the full weight of consciousness is brought to mind reception.
* What is neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a compilation of pseudoscientific self-sustain rituals proposed for programming the mind. Richard Bandler and John Grinder introduced NLP in 1973 as a set of models and principles to describe the relationship between mind and language.

NLP is based upon the New Age principles such as the belief in unlimited potential through access to a subconscious part of the mind. Some psychologists describe it as a “therapeutic magic”.

The practice of NLP is initially attracted mostly psychologist because of its magical effect. At the present times, it also attracts business and sales people.
* How is hypnosis different from meditation or relaxation?

Hypnosis does not have the exact process compared to meditation and relaxation. In the process of meditation or relaxation, the goal is to have a more relaxed and meditative state. This process can affect the body and mind in a better way.

What makes hypnosis different is that getting into the meditative state of mind and later on the hypnotic process will use the state of mind to transmit and deliver the messages throughout your body.

Compared to meditation, state of mind is the main goal of hypnosis and becomes actively responsive to words, thoughts, and ideas.

Black ops hypnosis is a type of covert hypnosis. It is a combination of four different fields of persuasion. The idea behind black ops hypnosis is an immediate, yet unrecognizable, induction. A person usually is unaware they are being persuaded by black ops hypnosis when someone is performing it on them. As with any hypnosis, the motivation behind black ops hypnosis should not be one of control or malicious manipulation.

The Fields of Persuasion

Black ops hypnosis is a combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), seduction, hypnosis and social engineering. NLP are techniques that work to change the way a person thinks or perceives things. Hypnosis is the technique of shutting off a person’s conscious mind and revealing their sub conscious. It also uses the power of suggestion to influence the person’s actions while under hypnosis. Seduction is getting someone to do something. Social engineering is using psychological manipulation on a person. These four fields combined make up black ops hypnosis.

The Basic Idea

The goal of black ops hypnosis is to persuade and influence a person without their knowledge. It is done through general conversation following some basic guidelines. The idea is for the person performing the hypnosis to carry on a basic conversation with the subject. Through a series of suggestions and careful persuasion they can alter a persons thoughts or feelings. Most people who have experienced black ops hypnosis have no idea they were ever hypnotized.

Black ops hypnosis techniques are something new but the basic ideas behind it are not. The four fields that make up this type of hypnosis are all well known and used techniques. However, in black ops hypnosis these fields combine to make new techniques that make it possible to hypnotize a person without their knowledge through general conversation. This is why it is so unique.

As with any hypnotism, it is required that a person not use it to cause harm to others. This type of control and persuasion can be dangerous if a person is not responsible. It is fairly underground right now and it is something that has been kept secret. However, teachers are emerging that are willing to share the secret. A person wanting to learn more should try searching for one of these teachers or reading some of the books that are currently on the market. It is an advanced form of hypnosis, though, so a person should really have some basic knowledge about general hypnosis before they start working with black ops hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a widely acknowledged process that can change the lives of many, by using hypnosis you can change your ways of life to be happier, healthier and more personally satisfying.

Hypnosis is created when a person is so intensely focused that it creates a freedom within the unconscious mind to act beyond the normal restrictions of what the conscious mind deems possible, real and proper

Hypnosis training is best started by learning about the past and present of hypnosis itself. The history of hypnosis reaches centuries back; it wasn’t until the 1880’s that hypnosis advanced from the ‘Dark Ages’ and into a more scientific realm.

It was then that a Scottish neurosurgeon by the name of James Braid came up with the term hypnotism. Not only is James Braid responsible for coining the term hypnotism he is also responsible for the study that proved that hypnotism was not a product of magnetic fluids flowing through our bodies.

Braid spent time studying Animal Magnetism and Mesmerism and concluded from those studies that hypnosis could be induced by anyone as long as they followed a certain set of simple rules.

As Braid experimented and studied hypnosis he coined the term hypnosis for reasons that the subjects undergoing it looked to be sleepy. After further study he found that one could be hypnotized and still be wide awake, at this time he attempted to change the term hypnotism to monoidealism; mono- meaning one, and idealism for the focus on a particular idea.

This term made better sense as the act of hypnosis is created by complete focus on one idea to the extent that it eventually becomes a reality for the subject. The term monoidealism did not take and hence today hypnosis is still known as hypnosis.

As James Braid has shown us through history there are rules to follow and steps to take to induce a person into a hypnotic state. These steps are known today as the 4 Stage Formula. The 4 Stage Formula begins with Stage 1, to Absorb Attention. Absorbing attention is simply to capture the focus of your subject.

This requires intense concentration and the ability to draw your subject into you and to keep them following your lead with suggestions and language, after you have accomplished this you can move on to the second stage.

The second stage of the 4 Stage Formula is to Bypass the Critical Factor. Critical factor is known in hypnosis as the reasoning of the conscious mind that says, “this is not possible”.

Resistance to hypnotic trance is created when the critical factor stands between your subject and their hypnotic state. This must be bypassed in order for your subject to respond to you on an unconscious level.

Once you have bypassed the critical factor, which you will learn as we move through different articles, you will be able to present hypnotic suggestions in the form of advice. As long as no critical factor is standing in the way the suggestions will resonate with your subject and the advice will come out through the conscious mind and take effect.

After you have bypassed all critical factors stage 3 of the 4 Stages is to Activate an Unconscious Response. Activating unconscious responses is your sign that you have successfully led your subject into a hypnotic state.

Any unconscious response is a positive sign for you as a hypnotist, as well as for your client, because you are doing your job. Unconscious response can vary; a good example of an unconscious response is an emotional response.

Emotional responses are derived from an unconscious level, you have no choice in your emotions they are simply a product of your unconscious reacting to and implementing the thinking and understandings you posses.

Make sure to note that if you are dealing with a subject that is in a heightened state of emotion, say a breakup or recent loss, the subject is already in their own hypnotic process.

You as the hypnotist will have no control over a person in hypnotic process of which you are not the authority. They will not listen to you or attempt to follow your suggestions, they are immune to your reasoning and need time to emerge from the state they are in before you can induce a hypnotic state of which you are in control of.

You must be able to access and retrieve a response from the unconscious before you can begin working toward any desired outcome. This brings us to the fourth and final step in the 4 Stages; the fourth stage is to Lead Unconscious to Desired Outcome.

This step is simple to explain really it is as it sounds. Once you have your subject in a hypnotic state and have accomplished the three previous stages you will lead your subject through their unconscious by way of suggestions to obtain your desired outcome. When you successfully combine all four of the 4 Stage Formula you will be engaging with your subject in a conversational hypnotic interaction.

It is an accepted fact that hypnosis varies widely. There are some people who have undergone hypnosis but then claimed that they felt no different. On the other hand, some patients claimed that hypnosis helped solve their psychological problems. Since hypnosis has long been one of the options in psychotherapy, there is some evidence that supports the clinical use of hypnosis.
* How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis normally involves an introduction to the procedure during which the subject is instructed that suggestions for imaginative knowledge will be introduced to him or her. A hypnotic process is used to encourage and evaluate patients’ responses and psychological procedures.

Using hypnosis, one person (the subject) is guided by another (the hypnotist) to respond to different suggestions in order to experience an “altered state of consciousness.”

Hypnotic procedures and suggestions differ, depending on the goals of the practitioner.
* Can anyone be hypnotized?

The simple answer is No. There are many popular theories that hypnotism cannot be performed on just anyone. From this theory, an implication was formulated that only gullible or weak-minded persons could be hypnotized.

In fact, some studies prove that not all people can undergo a hypnotic stage, but it has nothing to do with being gullible. These studies show that some people have different brain action, which interferes with hypnosis. Thus there are people who can easily be a subject for hypnotism while others cannot be easily hypnotized.
* What happens to your brain under hypnosis?

A quantity of “brain imaging” studies were conducted for those people who went through hypnosis. In this study, scientists discovered that the brain changes consciousness. This experiment also indicated that the color perception of the brain alters as the person experiences hypnosis.

There is also some research regarding the coherence measures of the brain under hypnosis, and it is being compared to certain brainwaves having a neutral activity. This study shows that brainwaves do not run as smoothly as we thought.
* What can hypnotherapy do for me?

Hypnotherapy is a process of influential communication. The therapy assists the patient to establish the strength of therapeutic associations. It can also serve as the framework for a collaborative and mutually responsive relationship.

Hypnotherapy also has a procedure involving a medical process that helps the patient to relax. There are cases where hypnotherapy is applied to achieve attention awareness but in a calm setting.
